Dan Snyder – The Self-Made Man

When you think about the list of self-made men, one of the names that pop in your mind is of Dan Snyder. He is the current owner of the Washington Redskins, the American football team. His zeal for business and love for the Redskins has led to the team becoming the second most valuable franchise in the NFL. He did not come from a prosperous family and had to climb his way up the ladder to become the sporting mogul that he is today. His youth and adulthood revolved around the Redskins. His sense of media and marketing has been recognized by many renowned individuals in the National Football League. Since buying the team, Snyder has launched a series of Official Redskins Stores in Virginia and Maryland. Now in his second decade as the owner, Dan has become a prominent member in the affairs of the NFL. He had founded Snyder Communications, Inc. in 1988 and was its Chairman and CEO. He was listed as the youngest CEO of NYSE then.

As of today, Daniel Snyder continues to appear as one of Washington's most prominent community leaders. Other than being active with the Larry King Heart Foundation, he devotes most of his time to other humanitarian efforts. During a community celebration, he was honored by the Beacon House which is a non-sectarian, neighborhood-based organization, for his contribution towards humanity. Dan has been a motivation to several youths in different parts of the world. With such a dedicated individual being a motivation, individuals do not have to look anywhere else.
